The Jets announced they have waived RB-KR C.J. Spiller and WR-KR Jeremy Ross. In addition to those two moves, the Green & White signed WR Darius Jennings to the practice squad and released WR Mario Alford from the P-squad.
Jennings (5’10”, 169) was signed out of Virginia by Cleveland after the 2015 draft. He was with the Browns off and on through this October, then spent two weeks on Chicago’s practice squad before being released and signing with the Jets’ practice squad Dec. 6.
The Jets announced today that they have signed LB Randell Johnson from the Rams practice squad. The club also announced that they have waived LB Arthur Brown.
Johnson appeared in 15 games with the Buffalo Bills from 2014-15, starting one contest and totaling seven tackles and two fumble recoveries. A seventh-round draft pick of the Bills in 2014, Johnson played in 42 games at Florida Atlantic and had 30.5 tackles for loss.
A waiver claim from Jacksonville on Dec. 7, the 6’0”, 241-pound Brown appeared in two games with the Jets. He played 12 games with the Jaguars this season and had three coverage tackles on special teams. Originally a second-round selection of Baltimore in the 2013 draft out of Kansas State, Brown was a final cut this year and then picked up off waivers by the Jaguars the next day.

GM Mike Maccagnan used his first free agency to ink James Carpenter to a four-year deal and “Carp” has been the team’s top lineman over the past two years. While Carpenter has manned the left guard spot for the last 32 games, Brian Winters has significantly developed and become a valuable right guard. After starting 13 games this past season, the New York Jets jersey china made sure their starting guards would be together for at least two more seasons as they signed Winters to a four-year extension.
“Me and him (Carpenter) always say we can be one of the best guard tandems in the NFL and I still think that,” Winters said. “That’s another reason I wanted to stay around because I have a lot of respect for him and everyone else across the line.”
“For the past 11 years, Nick Mangold has been a cornerstone of our team both on and off the field,” said Jets owner Woody Johnson. “As our Pro Bowl center, Nick consistently demonstrated superior skill and unmatched toughness. Equally important, off the field, Nick exhibited respect, sensitivity and compassion for the causes he supported. It has been a privilege to have known Nick these many years and, for all of us, I say Nick will always be a Jet.”

Mangold had a great run as the latest in the Jets’ line of great centers. He was taken with the 29th selection of the first round in the 2006 draft — 25 slots after the Jets tabbed tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson — and was the starter from his first game wearing No. 74 in green and white, at the Tennessee Titans in the 2006 season opener.
A victim of his own success, Revis would be targeted less the next two seasons. Opposing quarterbacks stayed away from Revis Island in 2010, but Revis still recorded 10 PDs and the Jets advanced to the conference championship game a second consecutive year. After a four-interception campaign in 2011, Revis’ 2012 season ended abruptly when he tore his ACL in a Week 3 contest at Miami.
On April 21, 2013, the Jets traded Revis to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Revis played 16 contests for the Buccaneers and then signed with the Patriots for the 2014 year. He totaled two interceptions at each stop and helped the Pats to a Super Bowl XLIX victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
