“I have graduation early Saturday morning,” he told Eric Allen after he was selected by the Green & White. “That’s been one of my mom’s biggest things for me. She’s always pushed school and grades first. The fact that I came back for my last year to graduate, walk across the stage and get that degree is something I’ve always wanted to do for her.”

“We’ve been working really hard as a unit,” Adams said. “We had the first install and we did pretty well out there. We had some mistakes, but we have a full-go practice coming up and I’m looking forward to it.”

The safeties’ relationship dates to 2013 when Maye tried recruiting Adams to play collegiately at Florida. In fact, the eventual LSU product believed he was going to commit to UF, but changed his mind because of potential coaching releases on the horizon. The two kept in touch and expressed their excitement working alongside one another.

The 5’11” 204-pound Stewart led Alabama with 864 yards on 54 catches and eight touchdowns, earning first-team All-SEC honors. Of his 54 receptions, 30 of them went for either a first down or a touchdown. In three years for the Crimson Tide, he racked up 129 catches for 1,713 yards and 13 touchdowns while averaging 13.4 yards per catch. At the Combine, Stewart recorded a 4.49 40-yard dash. He’s known for his physical style of play, mid-air adjustments and strong hands.

“When I went to see him workout, his route running was a lot better than it showed on film because they only did certain things,” Bowles said. “He caught the ball well with his hands and he’s explosive with the ball in his hands. He’s tough, he brings a lot of attitude to the game and he plays it the right way. We really thought he could help us.”
