The Jets announced that they have signed DL Brandin Bryant to their practice squad.
Bryant, who originally signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent, racked up five sacks for Florida Atlantic last season. A communications and political science major at FAU, Bryant’s career collegiate totals include 130 tackles and 13.5 sacks. His 38 reps of 225 pounds were the most by any defensive lineman at last April’s NFL Scouting Combine.
Wilkerson (ankle) and Steve McLendon (hamstring) are expected to come back fully healthy. Mo said his ankle will not require surgery and he is “looking forward to the offseason and continuing to get healthy.” Paired up with Williams and Richardson, the defensive line could once again be considered the best unit on the team and debatably the league.

The Jets announced they have signed TE Eric Tomlinson and waived LB Victor Ochi.
Tomlinson (6’6”, 263), signed with Philadelphia after going undrafted in 2015. After being cut from the Eagles, he spent his rookie season on the Texans practice squad. The UTEP product helped pave the way for a Miners rushing attack that ranked third in Conference USA while hauling in 134 yards a touchdown his senior year.
Ochi (6’1”, 246) signed to the Jets practice squad on Sep. 12 before being promoted to the active roster Oct. 22. The Stony Brook product played in Weeks 7 and 8, playing both defense and wholesale New York Jets jerseys special teams.
“It was special, it really was,” Tomlinson said Sunday of the time at the end of his playing career with the Jets. “Even now when I come to town, fans still come up to me and say, ‘LT, we appreciate the two years you had with the Jets.’ That means the world to me.”

There were several factors that brought Tomlinson to town this past weekend. He made an appearance at this year’s Jets House at SPiN New York, and while here sat for an interview with Eric Allen to talk about his Hall of Fame candidacy as well as to promote his part in the movie, “God Bless the Broken Road,” due out early this year.
“As it gets closer, you obviously think about it. It’s surreal,” Tomlinson said of entering the Hall, which will vote on the Class of 2017 Saturday morning in Houston, site of Super Bowl XLI. “I never dreamed about going into the Hall of Fame. Now that it’s here, it’s really amazing and mind-boggling at the same time because you’re remembered forever.”
How has Jets right tackle been shaping up this training camp? Ben Ijalana had a counterintuitive statement, considering he had just completed Saturday’s practice in 105° heat index weather: “This preseason? It’s been pretty cool so far.”
Last Sunday was something of a transition for Ben Ijalana, who knew he would be starting on offense against the Dolphins for Ryan Clady and his ailing shoulder. But with Clady going on IR this week, it’s now official.
The 27-year-old Ijalana started the first 13 games of his career in 2016 while appearing in all 16 games. Playing both RT and LT, the 6’4”, 332-pounder totaled 868 offensive plays and 925 overall snaps, ranking fourth most on the offense and fifth most on the team respectively.
