The Jets have filled their two active roster openings with the signing of free agent running back Khiry Robinson and practice squad RB Brandon Wilds. Defensive lineman Claude Pelon also has been signed to the practice squad.
Robinson (6’0″, 220) was the Jets’ first signing of this year’s unrestricted free agency period on March 11. The fourth-year back, who went to New Orleans as an undrafted free agent after the 2013 draft out of West Texas A&M, came to the Green & White rehabbing a tibia fracture suffered midway through the 2015 season.
Shell will get some more contact on Sunday. Just getting into the flow of things, he is disappointed that his rookie campaign is coming to an end.
“I feel like I’m having more fun now playing than not playing. I’m mad, I’m upset it’s the last game,” he said. “I’m still going to go out there. I don’t care if we hadn’t won any games. Do your job. If you love it, you’re going to play with excitement.”

The Jets have re-signed fourth-year linebacker Julian Stanford.
Stanford (6’1″, 230), who hails from Bloomfield, CT, and played his college ball at Wagner, played in nine games for the wholesale Jets jerseys last year with three midseason starts for injured rookie LB Darron Lee, against the Browns, Dolphins and Rams, before going on Injured Reserve for the final three games.
The 6’1”, 230-pound Stanford has played three games with the Jets this season. He led the Green & White with 18 defensive tackles in preseason action with one sack and he added a pair of special teams tackles. A Wagner product, Stanford originally joined the Jets practice squad last December.
Ochi, a Valley Stream, NY native who established a school record with 32.5 sacks and added 49 tackles for loss at Stony Brook, originally signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent. During preseason action with the Ravens, Ochi racked up two sacks.

Jenkins, a third-year player from Washington, had 45 receptions and seven receiving touchdowns with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2014-16. The 6’5”, 262-pounder, a second-round pick of the Buccaneers in the 2014 draft, appeared in two games this season and totaled three catches for 44 yards and one score.
After suffering a torn ACL in his right knee last December, Jets WR Devin Smith’s sophomore campaign has been a test of patience.
“It’s been real tough,” Smith told Eric Allen and Larry Hardesty on Inside the Jets. “The six weeks that I was out on the PUP list watching our team take the losses, I was real hard on myself. I felt like I could’ve been out there helping on offense and special teams. When I did get a chance to play, I felt like it was too late and the season was almost over with. I was kind of bummed out not having a chance to get back on the field when I was practicing very well. I just took it in stride, telling myself to keep going and working hard. When I get my chance, just go out there and have fun with it.”
